Low-Maintenance Pets for Busy People

A pet can be a great addition to any person’s life because they offer companionship, unconditional love, and entertainment. But juggling the demands of daily life does not always leave much time for pet care. It can be hard to find the time and money to care for certain pets, whether it is because of work, travel, or other commitments. Luckily some easy-to-care-for animals would make perfect companions while requiring little effort. Here are some low-maintenance pets for busy people. A well-equipped cage is the most important thing for a parrot, and mandatory equipment is drinking troughs, eating, and bathing. The cage should be rectangular, wide, and spacious. Having swings or ladders in addition to resting places and sand can be poured into the bottom of the cage. You can buy special foods and treats for your parrot at any pet store, but water should be given special attention. Tap water and boiled water will not work because the chlorine in them is extremely harmful to birds.

Aquarium fish do not need much attention. Just admire them from the outside, feed them, and keep the tank clean. You can go on vacation for a few days by installing an automatic feeder in the aquarium, and the fish will be just fine. For the convenience of all aquarium inhabitants, it is enough to refresh only about a third of the water once a week. If you run out of particular foods at home, you can substitute hard-boiled eggs, finely grated carrots, or unsalted buckwheat porridge. Using living plants as a useful vitamin supplement and decorating artificial reservoirs is advisable.

As pets, guinea pigs are undemanding in their needs and are always content with life. The animal only needs to find a place for shelter, and it can be a plastic box, a shallow aquarium, or a plastic cage with a net. Grass, hay, and straw are used as bedding. They eat exceptional foods and do not refuse vegetables and grasses. It is necessary to follow the regime, that is, to feed the animals at the same time every day and to provide most of the daily needs in the evening.
